Broken Social Scene

Last Wednesday night I was lucky enough to go see Broken Social Scene, a Canadian Indie-rock band with a close Friend of mine at the Metro on Sydney's George street.

The gig was completely sold out so I was thankful that I had bought tickets in advance. It was interesting also to see that there were a variety of people from different social subgroups, I think this is largely due to the fact that Broken Social Scene is still fairly underground and not many people know of them, so the gig wasn't swamped with one particular set of people. It kept is interesting and alive.

The band played a lot of songs from their new Forgive Rock Record album, the sound is distinctively different from their previous self entitled Broken Social Scene album, a lot of the songs were haunting, darker and have a strong flow from one song to the next.

It was a fantastic night.
