Alexander Wang’s new ready to wear S/S 2013 collection can
only be summed up as a structured
monochromatic dream.
The designer stayed to a strict colour palette of black,
white and occasionally a creamy tan at New York Fashion Week. The silhouettes
seen parading down the runway to tunes like Put Cha Back In It by DJ Slink, were
structured and architectural, framing the female form in armoured Wang-ness.
Highlights of the show were the leather A-cut tops and mid
thigh shorts that were cut into rows and attached with small fragments of the
same material. This is a new look that is sure to explode within high street
fashion chains.
Gladiator heels and flats featuring strips of black or white
textile in luxe patent also created a neo-futuristic feel.
Soft billowy materials in crisp white made for a perfect
base that allowed for ease of movement, essential for an everyday ensemble.
Wang has done it again.
Be one of the first to watch this contemporary and innovative
show.
