Time to set and forget your summer makeup

Backstage Laura Mercier makeup at the 2012 A/W Jenny Packham presentation

Summer skin isn’t easy to master, what with all the humidity and heat, our makeup tends to move south leaving us with sweaty foreheads, damp upper lips, oily T-zones and blotchy cheeks. So when the heat gets hot, often... we’re not.

Don’t fear! You guys are lucky. Twas just this week that I spoke with world renowned makeup artist, and brand ambassador for none other than Laura Mercier, Oralie Maylin.

This gal sure is a beauty wiz, and my chance to speak with her offered up some true beauty revelations.

Here are my faves:
1.       Sunscreen should be worn after your moisturiser, not before it. Wait for your moisturiser to sink in before you apply and then wait for your sunscreen to settle before you apply foundation or your chosen coverage

2.        Using a facial primer as an eyelid primer does not work. Why? The heat from your eyeballs makes the delicate skin on your eyelid very oily, this is why eye shadows go crazy and move throughout the day

3.       Wardrobe your makeup! Wear different makeup for appropriate occasions.

I won’t spill too much here, you really have to pop onto madisonmag.com.au and read the rest, and to show you how much I love you here is the link....
